This past week has been a bit of a whirlwind. And, it’s not often when I finally say to myself “I need a drink!”
When I want to enjoy a drink in the comfort of my own home, I love drinking mimosas. I don’t need to worry about being judged at the bar or at restaurants for having a drink that screams Sunday Brunch. Can you even get a mimosa outside of bunch? See, I’ve never even tried.
Anyway, with blood oranges in season, I thought I’d switch it up by using fresh-squeezed blood orange juice instead of the classic orange juice.
Blood Orange Mimosas
Makes 2 servings
- Champagne/sparkling wine
- 5 Blood Oranges
In a mixing bowl or container, squeeze juice out of 5 blood oranges. I used a lemon squeezer to help. Make sure you don’t stain your clothes as this is really messy!
I had about half a cup of blood orange juice after all that. I mixed that with one cup of champagne. Mix well, or else when you pour the drinks, you will have more alcohol in one flute and more juice in another.
Pour into two champagne flutes, and toast to relaxation!
