NEWSFLASH! In case you didn’t get the memo back in 2011, glasses are in. They’re so in that people who don’t need glasses, want glasses. You can pick up a pair of “fake” glasses at your local hipster outpost or teeny bopper store at the mall. I’d know because I frequent those stores (and own a pair or two).
Although glasses are in, and people are all about that thick-rimmed style that was considered nerdy or geeky a mere decade ago, it is not easy to select a fashionable frame that’s flattering and, well, not over-the-top.
Coastal.com makes the shopping process for finding the perfect frames simple. In case you’ve never heard of them, Coastal.com is the largest online retailer for eyeglasses and contact lenses in North America. They also sell Designer Eyeglasses (think Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, etc.), but the Derek Cardigan Eyeglasses really caught my eye.
Here are a couple of my favorite pairs:
Derek Cardigan 7003 Black
Black just always looks good. You can’t go wrong with a simple yet bold and trendy look like black, thick-rimmed glasses. You just can’t.
Derek Cardigan 7013 Brown Tortoiseshell
I was attracted to this pair due to its fun pattern. My favorite part of the pattern is how vibrant it is. A lot of the time, tortoiseshell patterns are very faint and unnoticeable on glasses, but this particular pair stands out. This would be a fun pair for those of you who love vibrant and bright patterns!
Derek Cardigan 7023 Olive
Here’s another pair with a good pattern. From what I’ve seen, olive isn’t a common shade for glasses. But a pair of olive-colored glasses is a safe choice for someone who wants something other than black glasses but doesn’t want to make the leap into something that’s too much.
All the pairs I selected are under $100! What a steal for good glasses.
In additional to connecting us with the most fashionable glasses money can buy, Coastal.com also donates one pair of glasses for every pair sold to someone in need (yes, like TOMS, I know what you’re thinking guys).
So, if you’re in the market for some new glasses, you know where to go!
