Holy cow, it’s been a pretty long time since I last did “Favorite Finds”! I love that in my last Favorite Finds post, I reiterated that this was one of the most enjoyable posts I do, yet it took nearly a month to put up another one. I need to follow through (time to set a personal goal? I think so!)
Things have just been so busy lately since it’s summer. From a weekend trip to sunny SoCal to finding new treasures at local flea markets, I’ve had trouble keeping up! Well, now at least if I don’t do this segment too often throughout the summer, you probably know why :)
DIY Backlit Marquee Letters – Lately, I’ve been into vintage marquee letters. I’ve wanted to purchase one for a while, but they are so darn expensive! They run in the $100+ range, easily going up to $200. Luckily, I’m not the only one who loves these marquee letters––there are just so many DIY versions on the web. However, many of the DIY versions look…well…DIY. While that’s not necessarily a bad thing, I’m interested in the real deal.
I love Rachel’s idea of making the letter backlit! It’s much less of a fuss create the letters this way (who has time to perfectly drill holes into wood anyway?) and it still looks amazing. Love the creativity on this one.
Vanilla Peach Pops – Now that summer is in full swing, all I see is ice cream, sorbet, ice cream bars, and popsicles in every corner of the web. Who can blame us? I’m not complaining!
I do especially like the creativity and presentation behind these vanilla peach pops! They use vanilla almond milk as a dairy alternative and have slices of peach rather than a purée in the popsicle.
S’mores Pop-Tarts – Tessa over at Handle the Heat comes up with some amazing recipes. Seriously! My friends and I are huge fans of her S’mores Fudge Bars and I love surfing through her blog and ogling at all the other sweet creations she has made.
Now, she brings us homemade S’mores Pop-Tarts! Doesn’t the homemade version make your mouth water?
Pom-pom Placemats – If you’re a fan of “pom-pom fringe” like I am, holla! Not only am I a fan of the fluffy fringe, I just love the way the color-coordinated layers of fringe rest against each other to make such a sophisticated placemat. Plus, it’s an easy DIY! It would be so nice to have these placemats out at dinner parties, or just when dining alfresco during summer evenings.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone!
