This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and BJ’s Restaurants, but all my opinions are my own. #DineInOrderAhead #pmedia http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
Last Friday, my friends and I decided to grab dinner and drinks at our local BJ’s restaurant. Usually, whenever we head to BJ’s Restaurant, we have at least an hour wait (sometimes our wait is closer to two hours), so we often look for any open seats at the bar and sit there instead.
This time around, we used the new BJ’s Restaurant mobile app to make things a little easier! With the new mobile app, you can order food through the app with a new feature called Dine in Order Ahead. Once you “check in” at the restaurant, your order will be made as soon as you sit down. They even have a spot on the app for you to add any additional instructions regarding your food!
You can also pay the bill through the app with a feature called Mobile Pay (that makes things easier!).
We ordered our food using the app as we were driving to the restaurant. First we selected the restaurant we wanted to order from (there are a few in the Bay Area) and then placed and confirmed our order through the app. The app is organized similarly to the restaurant’s menu, which made things easy for us.
Once we got to the restaurant, we told the hosts my name and we were put on the Preferred Waitlist. We only had to wait about 30 minutes for a table instead of more than an hour! That saved us a lot of time. We’ve never had a 30 minute wait for a table at our local BJ’s Restaurant, which is always quite busy no matter what.
Once we were seated, our hostess already brought over a receipt with our order on it and set it on the table for our waitress. When our waitress arrived, she asked us what we wanted to order and we politely pointed to the receipt, showing her we had already ordered. We did end up placing an order with her for drinks, since you cannot order alcoholic drinks through the app.
Can you guess what drinks we ordered?
Soon enough, our food arrived!
I ordered some mac and cheese and it was GOOD! I wish I could eat it over again!
Since the mac and cheese portion was small (it’s listed as a side on the menu), I ordered some bruschetta to eat in addition to the mac and cheese. Truth be told, the mac and cheese was actually pretty filling and I could barely eat the bruschetta! But everyone else at the table was able to help me with that. Who can resist bruschetta?
Without fail, we always end up getting the Pizookie trio, and we always have to have the Triple Chocolate Pizookie. Between my friends, it’s our all-time favorite.
After dessert, our waitress kindly slipped the bill on the table. I decided to use Mobile Pay and pay through the app to make things a little easier. It was so quick! It was even easy to tip our waitress through the app. Anyone who is in a hurry will definitely appreciate this feature!
If you head to BJ’s Restaurants often, you have to download the app (available on iPhone and Android). It’s a must! You will love the ease of using the app, plus it saves a lot of time!
To make things run smoothly, my tip is to sign up for a Premier Rewards account online at the BJ’s Restaurant website on your computer and then sign in on your phone. Also, in case you have any issues with the app on your phone, make sure your phone is updated to the latest operating software. The app was acting up when I first downloaded it but then once I upgraded to the latest OS, the app ran smoothly.
My friends and I had a great time catching up over drinks and dinner! It was a great way to end the work week and kick off our weekends. We can’t wait to go back! Good thing the Dine In Order Ahead feature will make doing so much easier!
