For a homebody, I’ve sure been doing the exact opposite of that. It feels like that stage where you want to just really tire yourself out before you hibernate for the winter. Because I’m a bear, obviously.
Anyway, I wanted to share with you guys everything that’s been keeping me busy!
Sophia Amoruso was a speaker at INFORUM in San Francisco! She was interviewed by Alison Pincus (founder of One Kings Lane) and candidly talked about everything from relationship advice to what she would do differently if she started Nasty Gal today. It was pretty refreshing to listen to someone personable talk about business and not someone who sounds like a robot. BTW, Sophia liked my photo!
I saw Cute Is What We Aim For for the 2nd time (the first time was in 2007)! A friend’s band was opening for them, so we went out on a SUNDAY night to watch them play! We did the best we could to stay for the entire show but we could only stay for a few Cute Is What We Aim For songs before heading home. Their special of the night was a “Cute-A-Rita” which I happily sipped on during the show.
I got a new Crosley Record player and I’m loving it! I’ve been playing the same record over and over and I don’t even care (it’s Mind over Matter by Young the Giant if you were curious), that’s how much I love my record player. The one I purchased is from Urban Outfitters and is now sold out, but the one I have linked is a unique Crosley that looks really cool! I’m looking forward to expanding my vinyl collection. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!
I made this Magic Cake from Brit + Co and it’s definitely magical! Basically, you mix the batter together and pour it in to a cake pan or cupcake tray, and the custard filling magically forms while baking. This particular recipe uses pumpkin which is perfect for fall. I love treating myself to one of these when I come home and am ready to relax.
SPORTS. So much has happened with sports in the past week. Unfortunately, the Giants lost and will not be advancing in the playoffs which made me a little upset. But, we have the Warriors and the Sharks to look forward to since the seasons are just starting or are close to! Staying positive!
That’s pretty much it! I’m hoping to catch a break sometime soon so I can share more than just things that have been happening in my life lately!
