Those of you who follow me on twitter know that I went on a short getaway to LA this weekend!I’ve finally gone through all the photos I took during my trip and put together a photo blog of my adventures in LA!
Pink’s is a popular hot dog spot in LA. While we didn’t go here (reason in next caption), it was crazy to see how long the line was! We were seriously contemplating skipping our reservation to get our hands on these hot dogs and see what the hype was about.
One of the best pizzas I have ever had from Pizzeria Mozza. It’s one of the top pizza places in LA and there’s a long wait time to get in. When we got there (we just walked in), they told us their tables were booked until 11pm. While we were waiting, we were just walking around walking in and out of stores, hence the photo of Pink’s you previously saw.
I can finally say I’ve tried a cronut! And cronuts are so damn delicious. Imagine a light and flaky donut. At DK’s Donuts in Santa Monica, they make many varieties of “O-nuts” incorporating nutella, chocolate, and everything else that goes well on a donut.
This is a special Valentine’s Day cronut from DK’s that was fantastic. The cronut was sliced in half and layered with cream and fresh strawberries. The cronut was topped off with creme, strawberries, and some pink sprinkles. YUM.
I was casually driving around Beverly Hills since we were staying in the Westwood area and came across this cute Farmer’s Market. I stopped off there and walked past booths of fresh flowers, ripe fruit, and refreshing juice. In fact, Pressed Juicery was there so I picked up a coffee drink! There were so many families there and though it was a small farmer’s market, it was quite lively.
After fueling up at the Farmer’s Market with my juice, I went over to Melrose and did a little shopping. I wanted to pick up some gifts for friends so I went to Bookmarc and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Since I was curious, I also walked into the DASH store because I was to see what they had (nothing special) and I also walked into the Marc Jacobs store which had many beautiful items far out of my price range.
Here’s a photo I quickly got outside the Bookmarc store. I love the outside of the store. The interior is terrific too.
Next, I went to Lemonade for lunch! I had wanted to try out Lemonade for so long now. For those of you who don’t know, they are a deli-style restaurant that sells healthy salads like quinoa salads and a variety of lemonades amongst desserts and mac and cheese. Everything there tastes fresh and healthy. I actually felt quite energized after eating there!
I wish I could eat this lunch over again. The Chipotle pasta salad was my favorite!
Yum.
Next, I went over to Rodeo Drive and did a lot of walking! Here’s some free ice cream I got at Sprinkles (I “whispered” something and got a treat). It was a kid’s ice cream but who cares? It was free!
The iconic Beverly Hills sign. The surrounding park area is actually a cute place to get some rest after strolling up and down Rodeo Drive and Crescent.
We trekked over to the Hollywood Hills to the Griffith Observatory to get this view! We did quite a bit of walking since the place was packed and parking was a nightmare, but it was worth it! The view was nice albeit smoggy, which was anticipated.
The cliché lights photo at LACMA. I know everyone and their mother has shared a photo from here, but in everyone’s defense, the lights are really beautiful in person though. The soft lighting is dreamy and romantic. There were many couples there taking photos, and I can see why!
One of the best ice cream sandwiches I’ve ever had. At Milk, they use macarons to sandwich ice cream! The macarons hold the ice cream together really well without crumbling or melting. Plus, the thai iced tea taste was on point. It tasted exactly like the refreshing drink I love. And who knew it would taste so delicious as an ice cream? Another thing I love about their ice cream is how it didn’t melt right away!
The Hollywood sign! How could I not take a photo of this? After all I was touring Los Angeles! We actually got lost looking for Runyon Canyon (stupid GPS) and happened upon this gorgeous view. It’s one of the best spots to get a snapshot of the sign.
And I saved the best for last. Santa Monica Pier/Beach. Beautiful golden hour photos before I had to fly back!
Take me back to LA.
