Next in line to have a designer collaboration with Target is Peter Pilotto. On Sunday, February 9, 2014, get ready to battle the masses to get your hands on this collection.
Since this designer isn’t as popular or well-known amongst the crowds like Missoni, Philip Lim, and Jason Wu, many of you may be wondering who he is. Peter Pilotto is actually a brand by Peter Pilotto and partner Christopher De Vos that focuses on taking elegant, classic styles and modernizing them with their textiles (Peter likes to focus on the textiles) and silhouettes (Christopher likes to focus on the silhouettes). You can read more about them on their site.
The Target line will feature womenswear, including swimwear, and accessories, and shoes. A lot of the clothing is activewear-inspired and includes mixed prints and unique silhouettes. Unlike the Peter Lim for Target collection, this one is actually a lot different than than the actual designer pieces they offer.
Here are some of my favorite pieces from the Target collection:
I like the rash guard styles because they actually look slimming, sophisticated, and fun at the same time. I’m also drawn to the sweatshirts because I love where the prints are set. I think the effect the print is giving can be very flattering. Finally, I’m loving the pencil skirt. Just pair it with a plain black top and you’re set.
Note that some of the items will be Target.come exclusives, so plan accordingly! Don’t go to a store expecting to find it there. Speaking of stores, you can check here to see if you’re local store is carrying the line.
What do you guys think of the collection? Is it chic or over the top? I think when the pieces are paired right, they can be quite chic, but it can be very easy to go over the top with these styles.
