I got twice the usual PopSugar haul this month. Earlier in the month, I got the Neiman Marcus PopSugar box, and now I’ve received the regular monthly box which is still chock-full of goodies. This month’s box is geared towards the holidays and the start of winter. Here’s what I got in the box:
The Secret Recipes by Dominique Ansel – Simon & Schuster – $35
As a cookbook fanatic, I was ecstatic to see this in my box this month. This book holds the beloved Cronut recipe. While it’s a beautiful book, it is definitely different from what I had expected.
What I thought would be a book full of recipes ended up being a book with a lot of detailed descriptions about pastries and baking and a few recipes, categorized into beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Many of the recipes require a lot of time to prepare (think 2-3 days). It’s great for die-hard Dominique Ansel fans and hardcore bakers, but a little “meh” for the average home baker. Because of that, I think this book will end up becoming a pretty coffee table book instead of a recipe book with chocolate stains and flour on every page (for me at least).
Saffiano Wallet on a Chain – Sorial – $49
This cute blue wallet is great for a night out. It’ll easily hold cash, credit cards, and a driver’s license, but that’s about it. You may have trouble squeezing your smartphone through the narrow zipper. It is, however, a strong bag and will withstand the elements (snow, rain, wind, spilled drinks). Perfect for ladies who travel light and need to be hands-free.
Ambergris Shea Butter Cream – K. Hall Simpatico – $22
Shea butter creams are the best, and this one is easily on its way to becoming one of my favorites. It moisturizes skin but doesn’t leave skin feeling greasy, which means I don’t have to wait for the cream to sink into my skin before getting back to work. This one smells amazing but doesn’t have an overpowering scent, and can be used as a hand and body cream. I’ll be reaching for this cream a lot this winter, I’m sure.
Thoughtful Heart Stationery – Tiny Prints – $15
This stationery was designed by PopSugar founder Lisa Sugar. These “XOXO” cards have their own envelopes and are a great way to send a thoughtful letter to someone. I actually have never ordered anything from Tiny Prints but now that we have received a $25 gift card, I just might!
Wine Glass Writer – $10
Stop getting your wine glass confused with your friend’s! This happens so often!!! With these wine glass writers, you’ll never have to worry about someone else stealing your wine or stealing someone else’s by accident. It’s made exclusively for PopSugar Must Have and I’m so grateful to have it!
Chicago Mix Popped Corn – G.H. Cretors – $3.69
This popcorn contains my two favorites from those holiday popcorn tins–caramel corn and cheese corn. Nostalgia aside (don’t fond memories of food make them taste extra good?), this popcorn mix is really yummy. I’m not a girl who likes to mix her caramel and cheese corn, but I like this mix. Plus, it’s all natural, non-GMO, and gluten free!
And that’s it! This box has a total value of $135, pushing it just a little big over 3x the cost of the box! It was well worth it.
