During the weekend of September 28th-30th, Sephora held a Skincare iQ event at select locations where you could go in and get a free skin consultation and a bag full of deluxe samples from top brands.

- Receive a FREE limited-edition makeup bag filled with deluxe skincare samples.
- Enjoy a complimentary mask or peel.
- Finish with an express makeup application.
Here is exactly what the bag I received looks like. This bag featured samples from Sheseido, Dr. Jart+, Kate Somerville, Philosophy, Murad, Sephora, and Algenist.
Sounds like a GREAT event right? Well, I actually had some trouble trying to attend the event, due to a mixup between stores and corporate. A few hiccups and an apology later on Sephora’s part, I was finally able to get my hands on one of these bags.
After having trouble with one of my local stores, I headed to another location and did a walk-on skin consultation. One of the experts takes you to their Skincare iQ computer where s/he will match you up with products based on your skin concerns. The expert then proceeds to apply the products on your skin.
I was a little skeptical about this, but the recommended products actually worked pretty well. If you get the opportunity to try Skincare iQ in your area (by this I mean check out their computer system to match skincare products to your concerns), I highly recommend following up on it! You definitely might find some products you didn’t even know existed that work wonders on your skin.
My local Sephora stores have the computers set up, so I’m sure I’ll be playing around with those when I get the chance, next time I go!
