Inspired by these sorbets, I felt the urge to attempt making sorbet at home. Low and behold, here is a strawberry sorbet I made that’s light and refreshing!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Frozen Strawberries
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1/4 cup Grapefruit Juice (totally optional, just part of my experiment)
- 1/4 cup Maple Syrup (highly recommended)
I know you’re thinking–why avocado? Well, avocado adds a creamy texture to the sorbet (you can’t even taste it). Also, I hate bananas, which would actually be great to use in place of avocado.
Also, maple syrup is added to keep a creamy texture. Otherwise, your final product will resemble a fruity block of ice rather than a tub of sorbet. In its place, you can use yogurt.
Directions:
Now comes the easy part. You dump everything into a food processor and then freeze! Once frozen, chip away at the sorbet and enjoy!
I’ve also experimented making sorbets with other fruits using this technique and they are delicious! I’ll be sharing them with you soon!
